Beginning with 2017, the Ukrainian government plans to restore the program of public information about NATO. This was during a meeting with representatives of Ukrainian community in Warsaw, Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze said, the  Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine, informs UKRINFORM correspondent in Poland.

"Beginning with 2017, we want to restore the program of public information in Ukraine about what NATO is," - said Klympush-Tsintsadze.

She recalled, that earlier there was a similar program in Ukraine, but it "quite deliberately was made for show." To illustrate this, the Deputy Prime Minister mentioned showing on TV channels the NATO documentaries late at night when everybody was already asleep.

The official added that the implementation of this program involved donor funds.

Klympush-Tsintsadze pointed out, that today more than half of Ukrainian society supports the country's membership in NATO. It is much more than it was even a few years ago.

However, she recognized that it is more likely an emotional support based on desire to be protected from Russian aggression rather than a conscious choice. "But we need to convince people, that the Alliance - is much wider than the military-political bloc. It is a huge scientific, value, industrial component", - stressed Klympush-Tsintsadze.

Vice Prime Minister stressed that the Ukrainian stopped "to look down" when it comes to NATO membership.

"The level of cooperation that, we now have with the Alliance countries and the Alliance directly, is no less than that which provides the MAP (Membership Action Plan at NATO - Ed.)" - Said the official.

She added that although it is not MAP, but essentially, it is an extremely serious reform of the Armed Forces, the security sector and the defense of Ukraine in order to be interoperable with NATO forces not only in standards, but in the way of thinking.
