On August 1-2, 2019, experts from the National Institute for Strategic Studies visited Sumy (Sumy Oblast) during the implementation of the project "Security Passport of Ukraine: Regional and National Dimensions - 2019".

On August 1, 2019, on the basis of Sumy State University and on August 2, 2019, on the basis of Sumy Regional State Administration, Institute staff held roundtables on the topic "Security passport of Ukraine: Sumy regional dimension" with representatives of the academic environment, state authorities and local self-government, law enforcement structures, public activists. During the roundtables there was a presentation and discussion on the results of the study of the regional security situation, carried out on the basis of sociological research and expert survey.

The project is organized by the NGO Center for International Security in partnership with the National Institute for Strategic Studies and the Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine, with the support of the NATO Information and Documentation Center in Ukraine and with the assistance of the Ukrainian Institute for the Training of Television Workers, press (UkrteleradioPresinstitut). The project is aimed at studying the actual threats and psychological drivers of the population, identifying specific problems that shape the regional security environment.
