On The 25th of February the manager of the Research Center for Regional Security of SSU Nikolay Nazarov read an open lecture on the topic “The contemporary state of security in Ukraine and in the world”. The audience consisted of students and teachers of Sumy State University. In the course of the lecture Nikolay Nazarov revealed the basic features of contemporary transformations in the world and how they influence the state of security.
Particularly there was raised the issue about the place and role of terrorism in contemporary world and the methods to minimize the risks of this phenomenon: the actual threat to safety in the contest of technological revolution and the features of Ukrainian specificity of security challenges.
During the discussion about the lecture students actively took part in it, especially curiously asking about the ways of minimization of threats to security in Ukraine. One of the questions was about geopolitical situation of Ukraine and its impact on the ability to provide its own security.
The Research Center of Regional Security will continue reading open lectures and seminars about urgent issues of security.
