On April 13 the Research Center for Regional Security of SSU in cooperation with the Center for Information and Documentation of NATO in Ukraine organized a roundtable to discuss the challenges of energy security and ways to minimize them. In the discussion raised topical issues of global energy security in worldwide and regional levels.

As the first speaker stands Doctor of Science, professor, expert in renewable energy Anatoly Opanasyuk. The researcher emphasized to the audience that we are on the threshold of fundamental changes in the world, largely caused by the energy revolution. Anatoly outlined global trends in energy development, revealed the essence of advanced developments in this area and provide a forecast of future transformations.

The second speaker - Doctor of Science, an expert in energy efficient technologies Nikolai Sotnik focused on regional aspects of energy security. The expert outlined the major challenges that are created directly in the person of its activities. Analyzed the state of municipal enterprises of Sumy, the main problems in the energy sector. Eventually, researcher concluded his report: "The majority of the energy security challenges created by man and it has to be minimized".
