In February 24, 2016 at the Research Centre for Regional Security of SSU conducted focus group as a part of the Swiss-Ukrainian project "Decentralization Support in Ukraine» DESPRO.
Moderator - Olga Dancheva, social psychologist, Chairman of the Society of Independent Experts figured opinion Sumy citizens of all ages, genders and professions on the current process of decentralization in Ukraine.

In late February, the city of Sumy attended master class expert in information security Yevgen Bondarenko. During the meeting, Sumy citizens had the opportunity to learn more about the tools of propaganda that are used during the information war. Expert demonstrated the effectiveness of visual impact, pointing attention to versatility in the application of certain visual set.
Head of the Center of Information and Documentation of NATO in Ukraine Natalia Nemylivska joined the discussion of current security threats of Sumy region in the form of Skype-conference. The event was organized by Center of regional security studies at SSU. During her speech, Natalia noted that today security is a key challenge for Ukrainian society. Overcoming existing hazards is extremely important task not only for governments, but also for the citizens of Ukraine.
Speaking on security challenges, we recognize the urgency of military challenges to national security. The issue was raised during the expert discussion "Modern security challenges for Sumy region", organized by the Research Centre for Regional Security. Military expert, head of the military department of SSU Mykola Lyapa noted that today the military aspects of security is a priority and they should be the focus of government.
After the revolutionary events in Ukraine society goes through precipitous transformations that influence psychoemotional state of people. The devaluation of hryvnya, raise of prices and tariffs, unstable political situation and war on the East of the country play a big role in how people feel and perceive the environment. How can you describe the contemporary mental state of Ukrainian society and what can you advise to those people who take all the negative events emotionally?
